Gosford Regional Gallery has a sister city in Japan so it's landscaping is modeled on a classic Japanese garden. However
immediately over the gallery walls a tangle of lantana surrounds the gallery. I am using lantana in the the gallery windows to
create a layer of wild calligraphic shapes using elbows of lantana. The gallery shades automatically respond to the sun so sometimes the lantana overlays the green perfectly manicured Japanese garden and sometimes they is only the shadows of the garden outside.
I was playing here with the notion of weeds, exotics and migration and the relationship with our visiting Korean colleagues.
Materials: Lantana branches and wire
