Mistletoe, prolific in the area around Kandos indicates a sign of imbalance. It is used here as a metaphor for how we might more sustainably manage the rampant coal mining in
the area.
WRAVP is a group of environmental arts activists who work in regional communities as well as in Sydney. We are mindful of the difficulties coming from the city and making
comments about rural issues so we attempt to research and engage with the community in which we are working. Kandos has a history of mining industry on which the
community depends. In one conversation with a local he told me how Kandos had always been a mining town but that now the mining was out of balance.
